The rise of industry was not good for american workers for multiple reasons. One reason is because of the bad work conditions. They worked long hours, such as six days a week for 10 hours a day, and they barley got payed for it. The made only one dollar a day. Barley enough to support a family. [page 178.] They also had to deal with horrific living conditions. Workers lived in tenemts, small apartment buildings, often house four to six different family on one floor. All family were expected to share one room together. There were no windows so fire was a huge concern. [page 179.] Another reason is because of all of the child labor. Children often had to work to help support the family, even with both parents working they barley made enough to survive. Although the children made less than the adults, they were still expected to do the same amount of work. [also page 179.] In conclusion, the rise of industry was not good for workers.

Do I think that the rise of industry good for american workers??? hmmm um no because on pg 177 this lady named Rose Schneiderman was hired at a factory to sew the linings into men caps. she worked long hours like usual but under very difficult conditions. but like her the job she maybe worked long hours but didnt get paid like she was so soppose to she went home a crowded, run-down apartment.
Then I also think yes because on pg178 it also said that the society began to divide into unequal groups based on wealth and power. the also on pg 178 it said that working class included men, women, and children it provided the skill and the muscle that helped push american productivity to new heights and made employees rich. but yet those same employers often treated their workers- their human resoucers as if they were at all parts of the machinery.

People were tired of working so hard and not erned little money.1o% of the employed labor joined unions. The hours and wages for the employers was finally inproved. In 1890 to 1915,average work hours per week unions employees fell from 54 to 49 at the same time they woul get paid more money then they did before.weekly paid rose money from $17.60 to $21.30. The raise of the industries was good for the people who were getting the money. But for the people who were working for them well it wasn't good. The people worked in pooor conditions. They worked for 1$ dollar a day. The workers were also treated badly. The workers lived in bad conditions they had to live in tenements wich i know sucked. all this infor matin in page 179.

The Rise of Industry was good because the states society began to divide the unequal base on wealth and power.(178)(180)It alos talked about people who went on strike, so that they could get paid more for their work. They worked through dangerous conditions, and got suver injuries.Because of that many preformed labor unoins. It took them along time but they did it, they did.-Sequoyah Thomas
